Facebook Remarketing

One of PickZen’s most powerful features is in its utilization of the Facebook Pixel service. Once integrated, you can make the most of Facebook Remarketing targeting specific users based on their answers in PickZen.

Let’s say we have a Survey with the following two slides:

To segment your users in Facebook follow these steps:

1.- Create a Facebook Pixel and add it to the page where your pickzen is located. Refer to the official Facebook Pixel documentation.

Note: Since a user can restart a pickzen if this setting is not disabled, identical Facebook pixel events can potentially be sent to Facebook. This generally not accepted by Facebook. However, as a workaround, you can add this line before the fbq(‘init’) line of your Facebook Pixel code:

2.- Activate the Facebook Pixel for this Survey. Go to Customize and enable it under the Social Networks section:

3.- Enable the Facebook Pixel for the first slide. Click on the slide settings button Screen Shot 2017-10-17 at 15.34.50 and enable it:

4.- Edit the Android answer clicking on the gear icon and set a key for the Facebook Pixel in the Advanced section:

Do the same for the iOS answer.

5.- Enable the Facebook Pixel for the second slide. Click on the slide settings button to enable it:

6.- Add the field Facebook Pixel keys to the form fields. In this case we only want to segment by City, so click on the gear icon for this field and set the key in the Advanced section:

7.- Publish your survey and close the editor:

8.- To test it out, you have to include the survey on a web page where the Facebook Pixel is installed according to step 1. Additionally, we suggest you install the Facebook Pixel Helper Chrome Extension in order debug any possible issues.

9.- To create your Remarketing campaigns in Facebook you have to create a Custom Audience first in Facebook. Click on the Create a Custom Audience button and select Website Traffic in the popup:

10.- Define the filter for your Remarketing campaign. In this example, let’s target all users that selected Android and are from Boston in this survey whose Id is 661:

Note that the filter answers (oIds) must be embedded in brackets [ ]. You can obtain the Pickzen Id from the Advanced section in the Customize panel.

Now, you can use this new Custom Audience to target these users in your campaigns. Refer to the Facebook Pixel documentation for more information.


PickZen sends more than the pzFinish event to Facebook. This is the complete list:

Event with the slide answers just after the user completes the slide.

qId: Pickzen Id
sId: Slide Id

Event with all slides answers when the user completes the pickzen (all slides).

qId: Pickzen Id
lead: 0 (lead generated) or 1 (lead not generated)

Event that notifies a lead is generated after the pickzen is completed (from the final leads generator slide)
